The Sun is Back!

The sun is back!

After a week with deluge of nonstop rain we at last saw the sun today. I can again see the mountains from my balcony.  I knew that I love sun and warm weather, but I  never knew how seriously I actually needed it until after this week. 

The tropical storm that created the hurricane ETA was the reason we had so much rain.  I guess I should be happy that we never have hurricanes here.  We just create the storms that develop into the hurricanes, which we then export north.

I am also happy that we invested a lot of money in an incredible drainage system, because the house and property stay dry - at least sort of.

 On this photo you see one of the ditches close to the house - David gets the credit for the stonework in the ditches which usually makes it look like stream beds, but here we see the real use of the ditches all around the property.  The water is brown because of all the soil and debris from the hills around us.
