The Purpose

Hey guys, it's Emma. You're probably wondering why I made this blog because I haven't really explained that to you yet. So here I am, explaining it.

I am currently taking a class called "Writing Professional Context (online)." Basically, it's a class about business writing. Sounding professional, how to communicate ideas efficiently, what type of format is best for certain situations, things like that. For our final, we were assigned to do a Community Partner Project. It is a service project where we do a writing task for someone who needs it. Some of the ideas were writing a letter for an elderly person and creating a proposal for an idea. I wanted to do something unique and something that could benefit my family (you guys). But the real question was, what could I do?

My inspiration came after reading one of grandma's emails. I don't remember what it was about, but I remember thinking to myself, "I wish there was an easier way for us to tell each other about things going on in our lives." Email is effective, but we often lose the email after we open them or don't even take the time to respond (I know I am guilty of both of these things). That is where the idea of a blog was born.

I want this blog to be a space to share memories and experiences. Our life experiences are what will shape us into the people we become and what will bring us closer together. By having them shared on this blog, we will learn and grow together. Share any and everything. Share art projects, gardens, home renovations, science experiments, music and theatre performances, stories written, jokes, church talks, accomplishments... Share anything that you are proud of. Those moments are the ones we want to remember forever.

I hope that this blog will bring us closer together. We are a forever family. Let's make and share some memories.
